Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, data communications, and low voltage installations. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various low voltage systems, including security systems, audiovisual equipment, telecommunications infrastructure, and more. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of these systems, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Configuration: Install, terminate, and configure low voltage systems, including security cameras, access control systems, fire alarms, audiovisual equipment, telecommunications wiring, and network cabling, according to established guidelines and industry standards.
Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of existing low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with safety regulations.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with low voltage systems, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all installations, modifications, repairs, and system configurations, adhering to company procedures and industry best practices.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure seamless integration of low voltage systems within larger projects and environments.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while working on low voltage installations and maintenance, ensuring the protection of personnel, equipment, and property.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining system functionalities, and offering technical support as needed.
Upgrades and Upkeep: Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends related to low voltage systems, and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance system performance and functionality.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role preferred.
- Proficiency in low voltage system installation, termination, and configuration.
- Familiarity with security systems, access control, audiovisual equipment, telecommunications, and network cabling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Basic knowledge of electrical principles and wiring techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical dexterity and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
